UC Browser reaches 500 million quarterly active users

The popular mobile browser, UC Browser by UC Web claims to have surpassed 500 million quarterly active users and so it is now said to be the largest used third-party browser.


Out of UC Browser's 500 million users, 300 million use Android. With market leadership in China and India, the world's largest and second largest countries by population, as well as having a strong momentum in terms of user adoption in several other key markets, UC Browser is steadily moving towards fulfilling its mission to provide a better mobile internet experience to billions of users around the world"
Out of those 500 million, 300 million use an Android, while most users are from India and China. To celebrate this, they've launched a new brand mascot.


UC Browser also proclaimed a new mission which is to provide users "with more tha just a browser tool", with the tagline "A Fast All in One Web Experience". For instance, UC Browser recently launched railway enquiry service in India which is an effective solution for checking train status and ticket informations.

There's an new update for their UC Browser HD browser which brings few improvements and additions like gesture controlled browsing, similar video player nad more. HTe gesture control enables users to control users to control volume and brightness of video on the browser's video player. The update also brought intelligent text zoom feature.

The company is now on a milestone and is looking for further expansion of its mobile ecosystem. It says that it is looking to go beyond smartphones and tablets like TV. They already have a Chinese version of UC Browser for TV which has features like online video and online shopping.
