The 4 Firefox phones you can buy today

4 Firefox phones
Firefox 1.3 UI

Mozilla's foray into the smartphone OS (I'd rather say feature phone OS) has given it low to medium good response.. With the Firefox OS, they aimed the low-end market and had a good audience. Below INR. 3000 with features competing with Android with touchscreens and good cameras.n Personally I like it.. Anyone can afford it and can try it or can have it like a collectible. Right now, Firefox doesn't seem very competitive or ground-breaking. But its just there like I said with a few USPs. And now, here I am listing 4 of the phones that gets you the Firefox experience in India. Lets get started.

1. Spice Fire One Mi - FX1

Spice Fire One Mi - FX1

One of the first Firefox powered smartphone to get launched in India. At ₹1999, it gives a lot like all other Firefox offerers. A 3.5 inch display with 320x480p, front and rear cameras with flash for the rear, 1 GHz CPU and 128MB RAM. It is a good choice if you want and it has good colour options too.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 1.3MP rear (with flash) and 1.3MP front cameras
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1440 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1999

2. Alcatel Onetouch FireC 4020D

Alcatel Onetouch FireC 4020D

Another offering under 2k, this time from a Chinese player, Alcatel who have been here in the Indian market for quite a while with their OneTouch series. But this one is a little incomplete only when you compare the others. No front-facing camera. That's it. Look below for the detailed specifications.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 1.3MP primary camera (without flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1000 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1990

3. Intex Cloud FX

Intex Cloud FX

Here's the first Firefox phone ever to get launched in Indian market. But again, the same thing as the Onetouch goes down.. No front camera. Why to go for this when we can get both cameras with higher resolution at a better price. Still it stays there as an option.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 2MP primary camera (without flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1250 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹2100

4. Zen U105 Fire

Zen U105 Fire

Zen U105 is a decent phone with Firefox by Zen. It's got everything that Spice Fire One offers (more or less) with 2MP rear camera with flash(Spice one has only 1.3MP) and all the thing that you'll expect in a phone under Rs. 2000. You may go for this.. Its a great choice!

Specifications:

  • 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen display (320x480p)
  • 2MP primary camera (with flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1200 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1999

That's all we have here.. In my opinion, its good to go with Zen's or Spice's.. They both look good and offer the best out there. Alcatel too has good looks but the worst specs. Its just in my view. You might like any other phone's look or anything. So its your choice at last. Comment your views in this.

It looks like Microsoft with its first branded Lumia smartphone, the Lumia 535 is about to release the same in India. They've sent out invites for an event on November 26 with "Five days to magic of triple". This is likely their announcement day for the Lumia 535 as it is Lumia "535" with a "5" inch display and a "5" MP camera.

Microsoft Lumia 535

The phone is rumored to be priced between 8000 to ₹10000. Will come with a bunch of (quite a lot I guess) switchable rear covers of different colours on the day of November 26.. Hold on for the event and more info.

Scientists closer to understanding the Sun's birth

scientists-sun-birth

A research team have investigated the solar system's prehistoric phase to understand more and better about the events that led to the birth of the Sun. Its the team of Dr. Maria Lugaro and Professor Alexander Heger from the Monash University, Melbourne. They used radioactivity to date the latest time when heavy elements like silver, gold, platinum, lead and rare-earth elements were added to the overall solar system matter. These elements are said to be first produced by some of first-born stars according to some theories.

"We can now tell with confidence the final one per cent of gold, silver and platinum, were added to the solar system matter roughly 100 million years before the birth of the Sun," Lugaro said. "Using heavy radioactive nuclei found in meteorites to time these final additions, we have got a clearer understanding of the prehistory of the solar system,".

This suggests that some time after these heavy elements were added to the solar system, it went to an "incubation period", during which Sun and other stars were born. Clouds of dusts, gases and radiations, portions of star nurseries, all collapse under the impact of gravitational forces to form young stars.

"We now know this incubation period could not have lasted more than 30 million years. This offers us the chance to determine the lifespan of the nursery where the sun was born, how massive it was and how many stars were born there together," Lugaro said. The study was published in the journal Science.

India's MOM orbiter nearing Mars with only 14% of space to go!

The Mars Orbiter Mission, India's first orbiter to the red planet Mars is nearing its destination with only 14% of journey to complete. At this stage, it is ready for a procedure to insert Mars Orbiter Mission's antenna into Mars orbit, what they call "Mars Orbit Insertion".

ISRO on their Facebook page said that they recently completed the characterization of Medium Gain Antenna of MOM which will be used for all communication between the orbiter and Earth during the Mars Orbit Insertion (MOI). And they said that it has only 14% of journey in the heliocentric arc towards the Mars.

The scientist crew of the mission said that they will not perform the Trajectory Correction Manoeuvre (TCM) for MOM last week, as they said that it is already on the track. This means, they've made only 3 out of 4 TCMs. However the orbiter is estimated to reach the Mars in about 47 days from now.

MOM is the country's first mission to Mars or a planet of the Solar System, moreover it is a very budget-friendly project under Rs 450 crore (around 83 million USD). Previously the country had made a similar mission to Moon (Chandrayaan I) and they're planning on several others like one to the Sun.

ATMs soon to defend themselves from robbers

atm

ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) are soon to be armed with a mechanism that sprays hot foam of chemicals in the face of the attacker or robber who is trying to open it  unauthorizedly.

Researchers of ETH University at Zurich are currently working on this and they've developed a film that will react when it is damaged. Two films with different chemicals are placed on top of each other and when they are damaged or subjected to an impact, the layers between them gets destroyed and the chemicals mixes. This triggers a reaction that produces oxygen, heat and water  vapor  foam with high temperatures reaching 80 degrees.

Wendelin Jan Stark, a professor at ETH's department of chemistry and applied biosciences said that this is less expensive and can be applied to all ATMs. He said that this mechanism spray the robbers and existing banknotes, so that it will make the cash useless even after it if robbed and it can even be traced.

This new tech is very useful as the number of ATM attacks are increasing quite fast these years. This is not only suitable for ATMs but also for things like cash transportation vehicles and all.

Storedot offers new 30 second phone charging tech

StoreDot

Israel based StoreDot showed up a device that is made of biological structures at Microsoft’s Think Next conference. Their tech claims to charge smartphone battery in matter of seconds. Imagine, a dead phone gets full-charged in 30, 40 seconds! That sounds cool!

They used a Samsung Galaxy S4 at the stall to demonstrate in which the dead battery was charged to full power in just 26 seconds. In this demo, they’ve attached a small boxy thing with the battery pack.

This battery uses tiny nano crystals and they are referred as “stable, robust spheres” by StoreDot. They are 2.1 nanometers in diameter and are made of peptide molecules. These batteries are around 30-40% more expensive than the traditional battery technologies and some say that its charger or something like that will cost very high. However the product will be twice as expensive as the current batteries in the market when it comes.

The battery now is just a prototype and they say that it will take upto three years for their entry in commercial markets.

India's ISRO plans a mini Hubble Telescope for space

ISRO mini Hubble

It seems like India's Indian Space Research Organisation is joining the club of top space exploring countries such as the US, China and few European countries. These years, the ISRO is planning and launching many projects like this for the space exploration and all. They've launched a Mars exploring orbiter named MOM (locally Mangalyaan) and are planning for an indigenous space capsule to carry man to space.

Now they are making another interesting one. They said that they are developing a mini version of the big Hubble Space Telescope of NASA/ESA. They also said that it will be called 'Astrosat'.

"Astrosat is nearly getting ready and it would be unique with three aspects — UV rays, visible and X rays. Even Hubble does not have this aspect. Though Hubble is big, Astrosat will be a small one." - Kiran Kumar, Director of Space Application Centre, Ahmedabad

From this, we get that they are saying that this is something unique and/but smaller than Hubble. The optics of Astrosat will be just 300mm in diameter while the Hubble has a gigantic 2.4m diameter one. ISRO chairman said that this satellite will be launched sometime next year. They are also working on a satellite to study the Sun named 'Aditya' whose mission would be announced in three to four years from now.

Skymedi Fix 2GB - Download

skymedi-fix

This tiny little software is circulating around the web making a lot go crazy. So here I am writing the truth about it. There's a program called "Skymedi Fix 2GB capacity" which promises that it can convert your 1GB flash memories into 2GB ones. So is this real one, does it work? We are here to test it and to show you the results. Let us start.

If you want to try this by yourself, here it is.

Skymedi Fix 2GB: does its work really?

According to me, this seems like a fake one. It is not meant to make a 1GB memory to 2GB but it simply rewrites the data to show its capacity as 2GB instead of 1GB. So you can see the total capacity of 2GB, if you use it. But you cannot use that 2 gigs, you won't be able to use the remaining 1 gig after that.

This is just my assumption. I haven't fully tested it as I don't have a 1GB flash drive or card. Well, who now owns one? So who now needs this software? If you still need this, get it here and use it at your own risk.

NASA found waves of liquid on the surface of the Saturn's moon, Titan

NASA waves of liquid

There's been a long hunt of searching water on other planets other than Earth and this is a good sign for the ones who were looking for that. NASA had found some waves of liquid over the surface of Titan, Saturn's moon.

Few years ago, a NASA spacecraft had spotted liquid sea on the Titan's surface and the scientists were excited. But it was not for long. It was later found to be dense methane and not water. The scientists continued working and observed the moon, dropping a bombshell. They've claimed to have found ripples of liquid waves on the surface of Titan which is a very good thing for the scientists.

“Titan may be beginning to stir. Oceanography is no longer just an Earth science. Don’t make your surfing plane reservation for Titan just yet.” - Ralph Lorenz, Astro-physicist  said

This indicates that the scientists are on further studies of the planets and moons for the search of water or anything. And recently two photographs of the moon's surface has been examined and found to be glass-like. They've also identified small waves on the surface that are 2cm high.

RBI warns use of Windows XP in ATMs as support ends April 8

RBI warns ATM operations

Microsoft has announced a long ago that it will end its support for the ancient OS, Windows XP from April 8. We all know that most, maybe all ATM systems in India makes use of Windows XP still now. Not just ATMs, Banking operations too use the same old and vulnerable OS. The RBI has asked all bank sectors to take immediate action towards this.

This end of the support will likely increase the chances of attacks on such ATM and other operations and its surely the one thing they need to secure.

"The probability of attacks on such a system may increase and it may be difficult to defend such attacks in the absence of Microsoft support," RBI said

Microsoft is about to stop their support to the XP which means they will totally leave it and stop fixing bugs, updating it or anything. The OS that released in 2001 will be silenced by April 8, 2014 as (it seems) they are trying to force people to use their latest OSes like Windows 8 and 8.1 which is as they say the securest and latest ones.

Whatever, it is a must to take steps on this as its going to be very vulnerable to all kinds of threats. Everyone and especially the ATMs need to take actions in using the new and safer systems.

Winfrasoft Offers Passwords That Reset Every Minute

winfrasoft password

Nowadays, security is a main problem everywhere. Everyone's having a password but the truth is no password is safe and can be hacked easily. So users needed a more secure way for their accounts and all and then came visual and biometric securities. “The problem of passwords is that they are very weak, they are always getting hacked, and also from a user point of view, they are too complicated, everybody has 20, 30, 60 passwords,” said Steven Hope, Managing Director of Winfrasoft from Britain.

Users now know that their passwords are weak and insecure, can be hacked when wanted. But there are still many out there having their passwords as "123456" and "password". They don't understand how vulnerable they are and so the company have came with a new password formula which has a four-color grid of numbers that resembles the Sudoku.

Users can select a pattern on the grid for their password.  Now those numbers are their password and these numbers keep on changing every minute making no one to mess with it. “There is no way anybody could see which numbers you are looking at. You see typing numbers but you don’t know what the pattern is because each number is here six times” Hope said. Now this is the new way here.

5 Unknown Ways of Earning Money Online

earning-money-online

We have seen some ways to earn money with less effort before and it just got very good response from our readers. So here I am with another post with similar ideas. Here I am going to show you some unknown ways of earning money online. Let's cut this out and get into the real topic.

Earn with Unknown Ways

So here are 5 ways that I know (some maybe the ones that I've never tried). I am sure that you can make a decent amount of money out of these.

1: Sell stock photos

There are many sites selling stock photos and there's always a need for such photography. So you may need to try this as if it gets good for you, then you'll love this way! You just need to be a good photo snapper and a creative person. Just use your digital camera or any DSLR and try capturing any interesting pics for them. remember that your photos have to be great giving some premium feel so that bloggers and others will want to buy it. If you think you are okay for this, try Shutterstock.

2: Design your..

Designing is another good option if you are really good at any studio software and creativity. You have choices here. You may design anything like T-shirts, Mobile & Tablet cases, Laptop skins like things and sell them on sites like Inkfruit. There are many sites those buy your design and give you some % upon the sales of your 'designed' product. You can even promote your product making it popular. So I hope this works well.

3: Domain flipping

I've talked about this previously too. This is another less known method and very few people do this and its a risky job too. You predict a popular domain name and buy it for a price and sell it for a higher price, yea just like real estate. If you are as lucky as you think, then this is for you.

4: Test games and apps

Be a tester. You know what's that. You'll test a cool game or app, you'll get an early access to it when no other even know about it and you get paid for it! How cool is that? You can't find a site for a whole bunch of jobs like this. You have to browse through the developers' websites for any vacancies there.

5: Bitcoin mining?

So this is not like other online earning methods and not even an online money making way too. The mining uses your computer's hardware components mainly and if you have a beast of a machine, then you can rock here. You should have a good PC with a good GPU. Using a GPU to mine helps it many times faster than using a CPU. Do this only if your mining speed is good enough to get a revenue that is enough to pay your electricity bill. Because the electricity and the system loads are the only things that you invest here. Know all about this way here.

iPhone 6 to be released in September; 90M units ordered

iPhone 6

The next iPhone is one of the most anticipated device of the year. Apple is expected to sell 90 million units just in first year. Apple may use bigger displays and the phone is expected to get released in the September of this year.

As we know, Apple always kept the screen sizes smaller for all previous iPhones. Apple doesn't seem to enter into phablet market. But some reports suggest it and a recent one suggested that Apple has been speeding up the work to launch it this September. According to some sources, Apple has been hiring lots of new engineers in China and Taiwan to perform that speed up. Apple now employs 600 people for the working China alone

Well, Apple is quite working hard and fast we think. The iPhone 6 will reportedly come in two screen sizes: 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch. And according to Jeff Kagan, Industry Analyst, Apple may sell more than 90 million iPhone 6 units in the first year alone!

"Several years ago the Apple iPhone was the first entry into this super smartphone market which changed the entire wireless industry. Next we have watched Google Android and Samsung Galaxy grow rapidly as well. That's why industry watchers have expected to see iPhone sales slow over the last couple years"

There were and are many iPhone 6 concepts around. Like, there are expectations of some futuristic features too. Reports suggests that it may include dynamic user interface which allows user to control the device far with gestures.

Australian scientists to dash space debris with lasers!

space debris

We all know about the debris on the space. Its known to be in very huge amount and it is a threat to the satellites and other space vehicles out there. For this, some Australian scientists are planning to eliminate them with lasers. This sounds like something from a sci-fi movie. But this is actually what they are working on.

This project is likely to be working in the next ten years according to Matthew Colless,  Director of the Australian National University's Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics.

“It’s important that it’s possible on that scale because there’s so much space junk up there” and  “We’re perhaps only a couple of decades away from a catastrophic cascade of collisions that takes out all the satellites in low orbit.”
-  Matthew Colless

Australia currently has a contract with NASA to track the space junk and to map them. The scientists believe that there are more than 300,000 debris pieces in space moving around the Earth's lower orbits at insane speeds.

The concept and aim of this project is to give the lasers lot of powers to illuminate them and zap the pieces of debris so they burn up and fall through the upper atmosphere. Colless also said that there is no risk of missing or hitting a good satellite with this laser as they target the junks precisely".

Space will soon have 'Gas stations'

space gas stations

Some researchers of the MIT have proposed ideas of placing fuel depots on space. They are to be stationed at 'Lagrange', regions in space between moon, sun and the Earth. Any object at this point remains stable in the place as it maintains a gravitational equilibrium.

So if this happens, then the future space missions will have benefits on their sides. Like they could carry less fuel from Earth and get to space, dock at the depot and after picking up extra fuel, reach the destination say, the moon. The MIT engineers say that this kind of orbiting way stations could reduce fuel amount that a spacecraft carries from Earth, enabling it to carry heavier payloads and all.

In last few decades, scientists have proposed many designs like building fuel stations on the moon and sending tankers to refill depots. But those ideas needed tons of dollars to be spent with long-term commitment. This idea by the MIT team  does not require such commitments. They have two designs with them.

"Whatever rockets you use, you'd like to take full advantage of your lifting capacity," says Jeffrey Hoffman, a professor of the practice in MIT's department of aeronautics and astronautics.

3 Ways to Earn Money Online Effortlessly!

earn money online

There are a lot of ways to earn money online. Well, there are numerous methods to earn them. I have seen people who click ads and read emails for earning and have friends who earn thousands of dollars with their websites and blogs. For all you need to push it hard, staying on the job 24x7, tuning it, working on it. This is not like that and not for that. Here I am gonna show you few ways to earn money on the e-world with fewer efforts. For this, you just need to be smart and resourceful maybe. You may know this, but keep reading as there's something new.

Earn money online effortlessly?

1. Sell your stuff:
Selling some stuff online is not a hard job I think. I've done it before, but not commercially. So if you want to earn some money through selling, you firstly should have some unique cool gadget or some stuff that is rarely available there. This isn't hard to find. You can search for it in your locale or you can even make it! I mean you can write e-books like a lot of others say and then sell it online for a good amount. Then you can design something like T-Shirts, Logos, etc. Rather than selling this kind, I prefer selling something rare. Or you may choose the old things that you don't use now. You can make use of eBay, Olx like sites for this. But if you going to do this seriously, I suggest eBay for you.

2. Flipping Domains:
Domain flipping is an effortless way. But not an easy way. If you don't know about this, let me tell shortly about this. If you are a flipper, you buy a domain with a catchy title and good rankings and then sell it for profit. As I said before, you need to be smart for this. You need to be careful while selecting names. Website flipping is another big way that you can try too. These could bring you huge revenue if you get good into it.

3. Make Money with Video:
You must've heard about this. Don't you think you can do this!? For me, right now, this is the easiest (don't take that very easy) way to earn bucks! We are depending on Youtube for this. You just need to make a video on your own for this. The video can be of any kind but it should get many views. You need to be greedy here. hah. For the video, choose one which you are good at like if it's me, I'll try to make few PC tutorial videos, gaming videos and maybe device review videos. After choosing and making it (try editing it in any editor, give some glam to it), then upload it to Youtube. Turn on the advertising options on your account and let your friends know about your video and your channel. Keep uploading new cool videos and keep sharing it. More views, more bucks.

Tips to speed up your Android device!

speed up your android

So you are an Android user with a device that is running slow and sluggish or semi-sluggish? Then you may find this one useful as I am going to share some tips that can make your device run faster.

Tips for a faster Android:

1: Background process, apps, blah blah...

This one is always the problem. Your Android device runs many or some processes in the background for keeping some stuff alive and known. This will eat some memory causing slow-downs especially when you have less memory (RAM, I mean). So there's one thing you can do. Kill those processes. But you may need some processes that are important. So look before you proceed. You can kill apps and processes in few ways.
      1. Built-in Task Manager: This one is the device's internal task killer app which is factory made. This is capable of closing running apps, but not many processes
      2. Third-party Task Killers: This one is better than the first. It can kill many unnecessary apps, giving more mem space. There are many of these that you can find on Play store.

2: Uninstalling some apps

Your device must have a lot of or a few apps. There's no problem if you have few apps. But if you have some many apps on your device, then you have to think about removing some useless ones of them. Having many apps increases the usage of memory, both RAM and storage memories. So you have to consider uninstalling some useless, occasionally using apps from your device. This really helps!

3: Updating apps

As you have very useful, selected apps on your system now, you always have to look for new updates and install them. Updating a software is a very good and essential practice. This is useful in many ways including stable and efficient system. So update every single app that you have on the device. Mainly update your Android whenever there's an update available for your device. You will do this for sure I think. So the habit of updating is a good one.

4: Root and have fun!

You can root your Android to attain the ultimate experience. This unlocks everything like CPU control, ROM management and all so you can take steps to speed up after rooting. Rooting nulls your warranty, so you have to think before proceeding. But remember you can always unroot your device after rooting. After rooting, you can even upgrade to newer Android versions that are unofficially available. So keep that in mind, root and enjoy!

Nokia X

Nokia X, the company's first ever Android smartphone is all set to launch in India on the 10th of March and it'll be available from March 15 for INR. 8,500. An Android from Nokia was highly anticipated one and its finally going to happen for real. The online shopping site named The Mobile Store already listed the phone online on their site.

Previously on the Mobile World Congress, Nokia had announced three smartphones on the X series namely Nokia X, X+ and XL. All those smartphones are said to be launched very soon.

Regarding specs, the Nokia X is a 4 inch screened smartphone with 800x480 pixels resolution. It has a Snapdragon S4 dual-core CPU clocked at 1GHz. RAM's 512MB and its got 4GB of internal storage with microSD expandability upto 32GB. The camera is dissapointing though, with the 3MP sensor for the rear and no cam on the front. It has a 1500 mAh battery that should offer 13 hours of talktime and 17 days standby.

Nokia X seems to be very entry level and the Nokia X+ is very identical to the X with almonst same specs. Both phones have same display, SoC, battery and all except the RAM which is 768MB. Nokia XL is aiming mid-range markets with the Snapdragon S4 processor, 768MB RAM, 5MP auto-focus rear camera with a LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera.

All the three phones run Android, but Nokia is leaning towards Microsoft with addition of Nokia's own app store, Skype, Outlook, OneDrive addition and Bing Search. The whle system's search is powered by Bing which is quite awkward.
