So now that you have an idea of what is going to be your channel, let's get to the part where we make it.
3. Make a Youtube channel
Making the Youtube channel is simple. You need to log in to Youtube with your Google account (create one if you don't have). As soon as you have signed in:
Changing channel icons |
- You can see the tab "My Channel" on the left sidebar of Youtube. Clicking it will show you your channel and all the settings and management options.
- Now, if you want to start a channel with a different name you can click your account thumbnail in the top right corner and click "Add account" to create a new account.
- After choosing one way from that step, you can customize your channel's look and information in the My Channel page you saw before.
- As you can see, it's all pretty basic once you are inside it. Keep exploring the tabs and menus to find stuff.
- Once you're ready with your first video idea, start making it and feel free to upload it to your channel.
- Videos can be edited with lots of free video editors like OpenShot or VideoPad. Paid ones are recommended for matured channels that you can try later on once your channel is grown: Cyberlink PowerDirector, Adobe Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas Pro.
4. Monetising the channel
Once your channel is big enough and attracting viewers, you can decide whether to show ads on your videos (and earn money). If you want to do it, navigate to My Channel > Video Manager > Channel > Status and Features. Here you can see the list of features that are active and inactive in your channel. You can find "Monetisation" among them. Find it and click "Enable". After enabling, you can find ad options on each one of your videos from where you can control individual ads.
Monetisation & other features |
