HTC has been a bit silent for a while with no major launches in India. Now they have launched the U Ultra through their online store. The HTC U Ultra was originally launched last month and now we get to buy it from HTC India Store at a price of Rs. 59,990.
Main highlights of the flagship are its design and the earphones. The design is a bit different from usual HTC smartphones we have seen over years. It also uses a glass body what HTC calls "liquid surface". The rear panel is curved for comfort. As for the earphones, the HTC USonic earphones analyses the shape of user's inner ear with a pulse and adapts for it.
HTC U Ultra Specs Overview:
The HTC U Ultra boasts a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super LCD display with 1440x2560 pixels. You also get a secondary 2 inch display (1040x160p) just above the main display. The device draws power from a Snapdragon 821 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. 64GB of inbuilt storage is available in the variant launched in India while one can expand it up to 2TB using microSD card.
HTC U Ultra gets a 12 UltraPixel main camera with 1.55 micron pixels, back side illumination, laser + phase detection, optical image stabilization and a dual tone flash. It has a aperture of f/2.8. For selfies it has a 16MP camera with BSI. Other connectivity specifications include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C and GPS/A-GPS. There is a fingerprint sensor too in the home button. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 feature. It is said to give up to 26 hours of talk-time and 13 days of standby. HTC has implemented BoomSound Hi-Fi stereo speakers and 4 microphones with 3D audio recording support.
The smartphone has four colour variants: Blue, Black, Pink and White. But currently it only made the Blue and Black colour variants available here. HTC's AI based companion called the Sense Companion is also available in the device. It learns the user's daily usage patterns and gives recommendations.
