The 4 Firefox phones you can buy today

4 Firefox phones
Firefox 1.3 UI

Mozilla's foray into the smartphone OS (I'd rather say feature phone OS) has given it low to medium good response.. With the Firefox OS, they aimed the low-end market and had a good audience. Below INR. 3000 with features competing with Android with touchscreens and good cameras.n Personally I like it.. Anyone can afford it and can try it or can have it like a collectible. Right now, Firefox doesn't seem very competitive or ground-breaking. But its just there like I said with a few USPs. And now, here I am listing 4 of the phones that gets you the Firefox experience in India. Lets get started.

1. Spice Fire One Mi - FX1

Spice Fire One Mi - FX1

One of the first Firefox powered smartphone to get launched in India. At ₹1999, it gives a lot like all other Firefox offerers. A 3.5 inch display with 320x480p, front and rear cameras with flash for the rear, 1 GHz CPU and 128MB RAM. It is a good choice if you want and it has good colour options too.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 1.3MP rear (with flash) and 1.3MP front cameras
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1440 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1999

2. Alcatel Onetouch FireC 4020D

Alcatel Onetouch FireC 4020D

Another offering under 2k, this time from a Chinese player, Alcatel who have been here in the Indian market for quite a while with their OneTouch series. But this one is a little incomplete only when you compare the others. No front-facing camera. That's it. Look below for the detailed specifications.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 1.3MP primary camera (without flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1000 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1990

3. Intex Cloud FX

Intex Cloud FX

Here's the first Firefox phone ever to get launched in Indian market. But again, the same thing as the Onetouch goes down.. No front camera. Why to go for this when we can get both cameras with higher resolution at a better price. Still it stays there as an option.

Specifications:
  • 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen (320x480p)
  • 2MP primary camera (without flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1250 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹2100

4. Zen U105 Fire

Zen U105 Fire

Zen U105 is a decent phone with Firefox by Zen. It's got everything that Spice Fire One offers (more or less) with 2MP rear camera with flash(Spice one has only 1.3MP) and all the thing that you'll expect in a phone under Rs. 2000. You may go for this.. Its a great choice!

Specifications:

  • 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen display (320x480p)
  • 2MP primary camera (with flash)
  • 1 GHz processor; 128MB RAM
  • Dual-SIM slots
  • 2G, BT, Wi-Fi
  • 1200 mAh battery
  • Firefox OS
Price:  ₹1999

That's all we have here.. In my opinion, its good to go with Zen's or Spice's.. They both look good and offer the best out there. Alcatel too has good looks but the worst specs. Its just in my view. You might like any other phone's look or anything. So its your choice at last. Comment your views in this.

Microsoft's first Lumia coming to India; November 26 release

Microsoft Lumia 535 release India

It looks like Microsoft with its first branded Lumia smartphone, the Lumia 535 is about to release the same in India. They've sent out invites for an event on November 26 with "Five days to magic of triple". This is likely their announcement day for the Lumia 535 as it is Lumia "535" with a "5" inch display and a "5" MP camera.

The Microsoft Lumia 535 is the successor of Nokia Lumia 530. It is simply an upgrade using similar specs and design with Microsoft branding. It gives what the Lumia 530 didn't like the front facing camera and all. The specifications include a 5 inch 540x960p IPS LCD display with 220ppi, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU paired with a gig of RAM, 8GB of internal storage(upto 128GB expansion through microSD), 5MP rear(with flash) and 5MP front facing cameras and 1905 mAh battery with promised backup upto 23 days on standby. The phone will run Windows Phone 8.1 probably with in-built apps like Skype, Office, etc and hopefully the Cortana voice assistant.

The phone is rumored to be priced between 8000 to ₹10000. Will come with a bunch of (quite a lot I guess) switchable rear covers of different colours on the day of November 26.. Hold on for the event and more info.

Nexus 6 listed on Flipkart as "Coming Soon"

Google's next-gen Nexus smartphone from Motorola, the Nexus 6 gets listed on the Indian online shopping site flipkart.com. The phone will run the most-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and has improved specifications and features over the previous Nexus 5 from LG. This time they've gone far and made a phablet with a 6 inch display.

This 32GB version is currently listed with the tag "Coming Soon" and so we can expect it soon. There's no info on exact launch dates and the price both from Google or Flipkart. But in U.S. an factory unlocked Nexus 6 32GB costs $649 on Google Play Store which is equal to approx. ₹40,000. We are also not sure if this will be available at any other online retailers or just be Flipkart exclusive.

Specs include, a 6 inch AMOLED touchscreen (2560 X 1440 Pixels) which is Quad-HD, 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 802 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera & 2MP front camera, regular Wi-Fi, BT, 3G and all, NFC and a 3320 mAh battery powering it all. Runs the latest Android Lollipop. The phone got "out of stock" shortly after launch in U.S. and one can expect the same here as it seems people are waiting for it.
